South Korean smartphone giant Samsung announced its 200MP ISOCELL sensor back in September this year, with no word on the first device to feature the sensor.
Now Ice Universe, a popular whistleblower, claims that Motorola will be the first to make the move. However, the source suggests that Motorola will be the first to release a phone with a 200MP sensor, without mentioning which phone will feature the sensor or a launch date.
According to recent rumors, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will most likely have dual 50-megapixel modules, so we can safely rule this device out of the running.
Samsung's 200MP sensor is coming to a Motorola phone!
This is very different from previous scenarios where Xiaomi is the first to use Samsung's new sensors, even ahead of Samsung Galaxy devices, with Ice Universe mentioning that Xiaomi is going to use the sensor in the second half of 2022, giving Motorola quite a bit of an advantage.
This means that Motorola will get the upper hand and hopefully finally introduce a flagship that can compete with the likes of OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, Vivo and iQOO, among other brands.
In addition, it seems that Samsung will now allow itself to use the 200-megapixel module until 2023, which is quite surprising. Because rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S22 will not have this sensor.
What else is the South Korean giant working on?
Additionally, Samsung has started rolling out its new Expert RAW camera app to the Galaxy Store in its country. The new program allows users to fully use the main, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses of the smartphone in Pro mode, they will be able to adjust exposure, manual focus, ISO, shutter speed and control white balance. These controls are available for both photos and videos.
Additionally, the new Samsung Expert RAW camera app lets you adjust highlights, shadows, saturation, and hue just like the standard camera app on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
It also provides histogram access, offers HDR support, and can save images in lossless JPG and 16-bit linear DNG RAW formats.
The main drawback of the Expert RAW program is that it only works with the Galaxy S21 Ultra based on the One UI 4.0 skin based on Android 12. But the moderator of the Samsung community promised that the utility will receive support for the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy Tab S5e, as well as others, in the future.
But he did not give a date when this will happen. Apparently, the launch of Android 12 with One UI 4.0 indicates that, in theory, all of the company's devices will be able to run the new utility, which will receive an update to the current version of the green robot.
