Nothing has a sub-brand called CMF that primarily focuses on accessories. It is a budget brand that offers headphones, chargers and other accessories. Surprisingly, Nothing doesn't seem to be planning to launch a new CMF-branded smartphone, which would be the first smartphone under the category.
The first hints of a CMF smartphone have been revealed thanks to a BIS certification, as reported 91Mobiles. A model number of “A015” was found in the database, indicating that it is a CMF product. This confirms that it is not related to the Nothing Phone 3, as previously suggested, but may be the CMF Phone (1).
While details about the CMF phone are scarce, the certification suggests that the company may be entering the smartphone market. Given Nothing's presence in India and CMF's budget brand, they can potentially launch competitive smartphones that will make Nothing OS more popular among consumers.
What does CMF Phone (1) have to offer?
Although the CMF phone doesn't have an official name yet, let's call it the CMF Phone (1) for now. If they target the Indian market, they will compete with brands like Xiaomi and Realme. To stand out, they need aggressively priced high-performance devices and premium software with Nothing OS, ad-free.
In addition, the innovative design language should differentiate CMF phones from the competition, avoiding common trends such as circular camera modules. Originality in design will be the key to success.
