iPhone 13 Pro: The first problems with the device

Apple recently released a new and better iPhone 13 line, one of the main features of which is support for ProMotion displays with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Shortly after the devices were unboxed and went on sale, 9to5Mac noticed that some animations in some third-party apps were limited to 60Hz. This seems rather strange, as common third-party apps seem to support the high refresh rate feature.

The Verge asked Apple what was going on, and the company cited two different reasons for this particular issue.

The first of these reasons is that developers will need to update their apps to announce that they're using a higher refresh rate, which Apple says is possible by adding an entry to the list of apps.

Apple says it plans to share the necessary documentation in the near future, but in some cases, animations created with Core Animation technology are prone to an issue that will be fixed in a future software update.

For those who don't know, variable refresh rate displays provide certain benefits during use, the key being scrolling through apps or watching animations.

What else do we know about the device?

In other news, this year's iPhone 13 mini, 13/13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max are reported to have battery capacities of 2406 mAh, 3095 mAh, and 4352 mAh, respectively.

Compared to the previous generation of 2227 mAh (iPhone 12 mini), 2815 mAh (iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro) and 3687 mAh (iPhone 12 Pro Max), all models come with increased battery capacity.

This means that under the same conditions, the charging time of the iPhone 13 series will also increase slightly, and it takes 1 hour 45 minutes to fully charge. This is very disappointing in the smartphone industry, where most flagships are fully charged in 30 minutes.

Android users are already using high power charging as well as wireless reverse charging. However, these are features that the iPhone will not be able to get soon. Currently, the maximum charging power in the Android camp is 120W.

Also in the Android camp is wireless fast charging up to 50W and reverse wireless charging up to 10W. What do we have on the iPhone 13 series?

Well, the top-of-the-line iPhone 13 Pro max supports 20W fast wired charging. This flagship also supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging and 7,5W Qi fast magnetic wireless charging. But we see that there is no reverse wireless charging.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
