Honestly, now is the best time for any smartphone user to own an old Huawei or Honor smartphone. With the release of the new HarmonyOS for very old Huawei and Honor smartphones, they are as good as new.
Even smartphones that weren't expecting to receive any major EMUI update now get the all-new HarmonyOS. According to Huawei Pollen Club, a new round of HarmonyOS 2 betas has officially begun. Below is the list of smartphones that can participate in this beta set:
- Honor 20 Lite (Youth Edition)
- Honor 8X
- Honor-10 Lite (Youth Edition)
- Honor 20i (including Honor 20i AAPE co-branded version)
- Honor play3
- Huawei Enjoy 20 5G
- Huawei Enjoy 9S
- Huawei-Maimang 8
- Huawei Enjoy 10

HarmonyOS progress so far
In the first week, by June 9th, we already had over 10 million HarmonyOS users. In two weeks, this operating system had more than 18 million users. After a month of updates, HarmonyOS had more than 25 million users.
By the end of July, this number had increased to more than 40 million. In less than two months, as of the beginning of August, this operating system had more than 50 million users. A new report reveals that HarmonyOS 2 now has more than 90 million users. Apparently, this system will have over 100 million users by the end of this year. This update is Huawei's biggest system update in its history.
At the moment, more than 56 very old Huawei and Honor models have already received this update. Most of these devices would not receive any major EMUI updates. According to Huawei, more than 300 million devices (200 million Huawei devices and 100 million third-party devices) will receive this update this year.
