Chinese sources report that Huawei may release a full-fledged game console that can be compared to Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox.

However, before the game console is released, the Chinese tech giant may launch a new line of gaming laptops. This will happen already this year.

Last year Honor launched its first gaming laptop Honor Hunter with latest features and attractive design. Huawei was also previously reported to be ready to launch its own gaming laptop in 2020, but this has been pushed back to 2021.

At the beginning of 2021, Huawei introduced the new MateBook X Pro, MateBook 13 and 14 laptops based on 11th generation Intel processors.

Ren Zhengfei, the founder and CEO of Huawei, said on Tuesday that the company will survive the sanctions imposed by Donald Trump and looks forward to restoring relations with the United States when new President Joe Biden takes office.

Joe Biden became the head of the White House last month. Huawei now expects the new US president to improve relations between the two countries, as well as between US and Chinese companies. Ren Zhengfei said that Huawei is still committed to buying equipment from American companies and that restoring Huawei's access to US goods is mutually beneficial. He also predicts that restrictions on the Chinese tech giant will hurt American suppliers.

"We hope that the new US administration will pursue an open policy for the benefit of American firms and the economic development of the United States," Rehn said. "We still hope to be able to purchase large volumes of American materials, components and equipment so that we can all benefit from China's growth."

The company's leader also denied information that Huawei is leaving the smartphone business.

"We have decided that under no circumstances will we sell our consumer devices and our smartphone business," he said.

On February 22, the company will present the flagship folding smartphone Huawei Mate X2; and the Huawei P50 is expected to be announced in March.
