Oppo is getting ready introduce its next flagship smartwatch. The Oppo Watch X will be the company's next device to run Google WearOS. The company confirmed today that the new watch will debut on February 29 in Malaysia. The Watch X is almost identical to the recently released OnePlus Watch 2. However, the OnePlus Watch will be unveiled three days earlier on February 26.
Oppo Watch X is coming to Malaysia soon
The Oppo Watch X has the same design as the OnePlus Watch 2. So it could end up being a redesigned smartwatch for select markets where the OnePlus Watch 2 won't be launched. Therefore, the Oppo Watch X should have the same specifications. The smartwatch will be equipped with a 1,43-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. Under the hood of the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and Google Wear OS 4 operating system. Oppo Watch X will be available in Platinum Black and Mars Brown colors.
The Watch X is also MIIT and 3C certified with model number OWW231. Thanks to these listings, we know it will come with 4G LTE connectivity via eSIM. It will also support 10W charging, which is more than enough for a 500mAh battery. The device will run Wear OS 4 and have a wide range of functions for monitoring health and sports training. Like the OnePlus Watch 2, it will be equipped with GPS for precise navigation.
The Watch X features a round screen with a metal body that extends to the physical buttons. So far, Oppo has only released a few images through its Malaysian office. There is no mention of global variants or even European versions.
With the release of the Watch X just a few days away, we expect Oppo to continue sharing details to build hype around the new device.
