Corning periodically updates its Gorilla Glass portfolio with the release of flagships. This time, the company introduced Gorilla Armor with the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. As we wrote before, one of the improvements is that the new protective glass can reduce reflections by up to 75%.
With this, Corning wanted to provide better clarity and an improved viewing experience on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This improvement may seem gimmicky. But it has just been tested on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. In real-world conditions, the new protective glass demonstrated a much better viewing experience.
Galaxy S24 Ultra Gorilla Armor protective glass reduces glare on the iPhone 15 Pro Max screen
As you can see in the image below, Samsung and Corning did not lie The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra's Gorilla Armor can really reduce reflections significantly. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the screen of the Samsung flagship looks much less reflective.
The image also shows the level of image clarity between them. As you can see in the attached image, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra looks very bright. Of course, you can argue that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a different panel than Samsung's flagship.
Despite this, the image on the iPhone 15 Pro Max looks much darker than on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Another thing to note is that the image was taken indoors. The difference can be much greater in an outdoor environment with harsh sunlight.
With all that said, it can be concluded that the anti-reflection feature promoted by Samsung and Corning is not just a gimmick. And it would be very interesting to see what Corning will offer next. You can read more about Gorilla Armor in our in-depth discussion at this link.
