Netflix cancels the series "House of Evil" after a major fiasco

Apparently there is no hope for Resident Evil fans who want to see a good TV adaptation. After the utter disaster of the last film, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, there was hope for Netflix's Resident Evil show. However, the series also suffered a major fiasco, causing displeasure among fans of the franchise as well as viewers in general. After several low ratings from several media outlets, Netflix announced that Resident Evil will be canceled and there will be no second season.

Netflix

Netflix has been struggling with losing subscribers in recent months. The company is developing a new level of advertising with a lower price to attract more customers. Until that happens, however, the big "H" is canceling some movies and shows that aren't making money. Apparently, the cancellation of Resident Evil is the company's latest cost-saving measure. The company must know that there is no point in spending money on failure for consecutive seasons.

The first season of Resident Evil consists of 8 episodes, all of which are available. The Netflix show stars Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Sienna Agudong and more. For those who don't know, the show takes place in two different time periods. The first shows teenagers Jade Wesker and Billy Wesker moving to New Raccoon City. Another timeline is in the future and shows Jade and the others trying to survive on a zombie infested Earth. According to reports, the story of the series takes place during Resident Evil: Village. However, we don't know if this makes sense.

Netflix's ad tier is coming soon to make up for the loss

Resident Evil is likely yet another casualty in Netflix's struggle to prevent more revenue losses. The company, as previously mentioned, has canceled several upcoming shows and movies to save money. He's developing a new ad-supported plan. This particular plan will have some playback limitations and will only support 480p resolution. Also, we expect it to have a very limited number of screens. Last but not least is getting help from Microsoft for advertising.

We don't know for sure if Netflix's advertising plan will be the answer to the company's losses. However, this is undoubtedly a step in a new trend that has emerged against the background of the global economic crisis.
