A little more than a week ago, Xiaomi presented its new Android operating system. While Xiaomi's 14-series smartphones come with this new OS right out of the box, Xiaomi enthusiasts are ready for the fact that the company is preparing to roll out this update to a wider range of phones in the coming weeks. Originally launched in China, a plan to roll out Xiaomi HyperOS globally has recently emerged.
Xiaomi's New HyperOS: Global Rollout Plans Revealed
Xiaomi enthusiasts were excited that the company is already testing this fresh update on a number of devices around the world. Intriguingly, these phones are currently undergoing HyperOS testing. And the highlight is that it is based on Android 14. This could mean that both Android 14 and HyperOS will be released at the same time. But here's the catch: Those who are already running Android 14 with MIUI 14 beta should wait to receive the Android 14 with MIUI stable update before upgrading to HyperOS.
According to Gsmchina, nine Xiaomi devices are participating in this global HyperOS test, and they will probably be among the first to enjoy the update. It's worth noting that there aren't any Redmi or POCO phones on the list, but don't lose hope—these devices can still get their share.
While the latest Xiaomi HyperOS global rollout plan seems to be focused on Xiaomi phones, it remains to be seen if there will be separate plans for the Redmi and POCO models. However, given that many POCO and Redmi phones are essentially upgraded Xiaomi phones, there's a good chance that the update will eventually roll out to all of these models.
