Google Play Games for PC is a great initiative that brings some popular Android games to PC. The service has been in beta for quite some time, but, judging by everything, it is finally showing signs of a full-fledged release. Today, the beta version of Google Play Games has been expanded to more than 40 European countries (including the UK) and New Zealand. With these new additions service is now available in 56 countries. This is significant progress compared to November 13.
Google Play Games for PC is on its way to global availability
Google's goal with Google Play Games for PC is to reach more players. The search giant wants to give players access to its games on as many devices as possible. With a separate app, you can play your favorite games seamlessly on smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks and PCs.
“We are excited to expand our platform to more markets so players can enjoy their favorite games on Google Play. As we approach the full release, we will continue to add new features and evaluate feedback from developers and players.” - Google statement from November 2022, when the service went through the second expansion of availability
Currently, Google Play Games offers more than 100 games for Android. Not all games are unanimous in terms of popularity. However, you can still find popular ones like Asphalt 9, Homescapes, Last Fortress and 1945: Air Force. Google is adding more and more games to the service. The goal is to build a huge portfolio, possibly with most Play Store games in the near future. For now, it will be adding games at a good pace.
More details and requirements
The requirements are not that high, and with a 4-core processor, an integrated processor and Windows 10 or higher, you should be able to play games without any problems. To get more technical, Google recommends a PC with at least Windows 10, a solid state drive, 8GB of RAM, and a quad-core processor with UHD 4 graphics from Intel or equivalent from AMD. These are the basic requirements, but Google recommends a dedicated "gaming" GPU, such as an Nvidia GeForce MX630 and above, and a CPU with eight logical cores.
The search giant promises to add more countries to the service soon. It is worth noting that Windows 11 users can also enjoy some Android games through the Amazon store. The latest version of Windows has the feature of running Android games and apps. Of course, running games through the Google Play Games app should be better with achievements, save integration, and more.
