Apple has acknowledged another iOS 16 bug affecting iPhone 14 users. This time, the bug is related to mobile data and SIM card support. According to MacRumors, Apple has acknowledged that some iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max owners may be seeing a "SIM Not Supported" pop-up on their phones. After showing the pop-up message, the iPhone may freeze completely. Apple says it is "investigating" the issue. However, the company claims that the problem is not in the hardware. As such, it recommends users make sure their system is up to date.
Temporary fix for iPhone 14 / Pro series SIM card error
In the meantime, as the investigation continues, Apple recommends that users wait a few minutes after seeing this message to see if it goes away. If the message persists, then users should try rebooting the smartphone. The restart option is by no means a permanent fix. Therefore, users still need to contact an authorized service provider to request technical support.
This is not the first time that Apple has admitted to mistakes in the latest series of iPhone 14. In the days and weeks after the release, the new iPhone had numerous problems. We have seen issues with device activation and camera shake. The company will address these issues in the next updates to iOS 16. Currently, Apple is testing iOS 16.1, the official version should be released at the end of this month.
