Over the past few months, modified iPhones have gained popularity. Most of these mods try to combine USB Type-C with the iPhone X. Well, the first iPhone X with USB Type-C was a huge success. This first iPhone X with USB Type-C didn't support water resistance, but it sold for a whopping $86. And the latest iPhone X model with USB Type-C already supports water resistance, but its sale turned out to be a complete failure, as it was sold for only $001. And that's significantly less than the first iPhone X with USB Type-C.
Gernot Jobstl is responsible for the modification process. Unfortunately, he will not receive significant compensation for his work. With all that, he will have enough funds to pay for basic expenses.
The waterproof iPhone X with a USB-C port managed to find a buyer
It is important to note that connecting the USB Type-C port to the iPhone X is really not easy. And making this smartphone waterproof is even more difficult. But in reality, this waterproof version did not attract much attention. Bidding for this waterproof iPhone X is now closed and the final price is $3000. In fact, the information in the listing says that there was only one rate. Thus, it turns out that the manufacturer almost went home with nothing.
Detailed information about the modified phone is presented below:
"The Usb-C port is used to charge the phone and transfer data between the phone and the computer. This modified USB-C port is unidirectional instead of bidirectional. There are different USB-C standards. I guarantee functionality only with the included cable and charger. The Usb-C to Lightning chip does not support fast charging, so powerful chargers should not be used.
The phone is waterproof to the IPX7 standard, just like the original iPhone X. This means protection against water ingress when fully immersed in water for a limited time (1 meter depth for 30 minutes). I do not recommend exposing the phone to these circumstances more often! Water protection is only intended for regular cleaning of the mobile phone with water.
Note that this is a prototype, not a tested product. Therefore, I do not guarantee anything about functionality and waterproofness! As this is a private sale, there are no guarantees, warranties or rights of return.'
