"We highly appreciated Huawei's work with startups. The company's approach to the ecosystem, according to which it not only "takes", but also "gives", deserves special attention. Huawei uses cloud infrastructure and its own mobile services to support the development of startups, develop new products and enter new markets. Proximity to numerous startups in the field of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data and other leading technologies gives Huawei significant advantages.” - commented Alberto Onetti, head of Mind the Bridge.
Catherine Chen, President of Public Affairs
and communications of Huawei, speaks at the award ceremony
Catherine Chen, President of Public Affairs and Communications at Huawei, said: “Huawei started 34 years ago with a start-up capital of US$5. Then we took advantage of the generosity of large companies that were ready to take a risk and invest in a promising startup. Today, we also want to contribute to the development of the industry by supporting more startups. We believe that the idea of "paying it forward" is critical to the development of the ecosystem. For example, over the past eight years, our Digital InPulse program in France has helped more than 000 startups enter the international market. With initiatives like Shining Star and the Huawei Developer Program, we want to increase the number of startups in the market and support entrepreneurs and developers."
"Huawei supports open innovation and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Europe. Our 23 different research centers in Europe work closely with the SME sector. We support open source governance frameworks, which are the perfect tools for technology development.” - noted Tony Jin Yong (Tony Jin Yong), the main representative of Huawei in the EU institutions.
