Yesterday, AnTuTu announced the top 10 flagship Android smartphones for December 2021. Of course, we didn't expect the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC to be on this list. Smartphones (Moto Edge X30 and Xiaomi 12/Pro) with this chip were released at the end of December, so they cannot make it to the list. Since these smartphones have only been on the market for a few days, there isn't enough data to rate them.
However, the top 10 smartphones on this list use either Snapdragon 888+ or Snapdragon 888. According to AnTuTu, the Black Shark 4S Pro with Snapdragon 888+ continues to dominate the list of Android flagships.
Black Shark 4S Pro with Snapdragon 888+ has an average score of 874702 points. Another gaming smartphone is the Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro with an average score of 852985. This smartphone is also powered by the Snapdragon 888+ SoC. When comparing the intermediate scores, the difference between them lies in the CPU, GPU, and MEM scores. However, the Black Shark 4S Pro uses a unique SSD + UFS 3.1 flash memory and also benefits from a large storage of 512GB.
In third place is the iQOO 8 Pro, which also has a Snapdragon 888+ processor. This is the model with the highest score among regular (non-gaming) flagships. This smartphone is more performance oriented.
A complete list of flagship Android smartphones included in this ranking
- Black Shark 4S Pro (Snapdragon 888+) – 874702 points
- Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro (Snapdragon 888+) – 852 points
- iQOO 8 Pro (Snapdragon 888+) – 845 points
- Vivo X70 Pro+ (Snapdragon 888+) – 837 points
- Oppo Find N (Snapdragon 888) – 836 points
- iQOO 8 (Snapdragon 888) – 831 points
- Asus Rog Gaming Phone 5s (Snapdragon 888+) – 831 points
- iQOO Neo 5s (Snapdragon 888) – 825 points
- Motorola Edge S30 (Snapdragon 888) – 825 points
- Oppo Find X3 Pro (Snapdragon 888) – 825 points
From the list above, we can see that the first four smartphones on the list use the Snapdragon 888+. While five smartphones in the list use the SD888+, the other five use the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
However, in January, the list of TOP-10 AnTuTu flagships will change significantly. This is because smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC will already be on this list. There will be a significant difference, because the SD 8 Gen1 exceeds 1000000 on AnTuTu, and if we take for comparison the Xiaomi 12 Pro equipped with a new generation Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, the actual test result is 1020324 points.
This chip's GPU score is closer to 450, but the Nubia Red Magic 000S Pro's GPU scores 6. So the improvements in SD320 Gen000 are significant. GPU performance at a level that practical use can provide better frame rate stability in the game.
