Transsion Holdings brands like Tecno and Infinix are doing their best to stay in the headlines. While Infinix promises to revolutionize the market with a smartphone with 160W fast charging, Tecno today introduces a new innovative imaging technology.
Today, the Chinese brand presented the new fruit of its innovations and achievements in image processing technologies. The announcements were made during a webinar titled Global Mobile Camera Trends 2022: Discussing Innovation, organized by research firm Counterpoint.
The Tecno company talked about the latest achievements and discoveries in the field of light sensitivity, image stabilization and video. It is also currently focusing on scaling and high-resolution technologies, including technologies such as RGBW and G + P, Sensor-Shift and telescoping lenses.
Tecno has promised that some of these new technologies will be available in their 2022 product line. According to TECNO, these technologies will revolutionize the phone's photographic capabilities and allow users to take studio-quality photos and videos without any professional skills.
Tecno wants to be the first Android OEM with Sensor-Shift
According to Jimmy Hsu, senior product manager of imaging technology, Tecno has made significant progress in light sensitivity thanks to its proprietary RGBW sub-pixel rendering algorithm. It increases the light captured by the CMOS sensor by 60 percent. Jimmy Hsu points out that light consumption will increase by 30 percent thanks to G+P lens technology. This results in an overall increase of 200 percent and offers consumers revolutionary low-light imaging capabilities.
Tecno also plans to launch its Sensor-Shift technology in 2022. It will be the first Android smartphone brand to do so. Sensor-Shift, for those who don't know, is image stabilization technology. It uses sensor movements instead of lens movements to compensate for vibration. Jimmy Hsu also says that the Techno Sensor-Shift control accuracy will reach 350 percent of the current level. In addition, there is room for further optimization of the algorithms in the future.
The company is also working on a concept phone with a telescoping lens that will be released in 2022. This lens provides benefits such as lossless zoom and large aperture. The company also adds that “a compressed back focal length (BFL) design with motorized stretchable lenses will significantly reduce the thickness of the phone. It will combine consumer demands for simple appearance and high performance."
Samsung also promised revolutionary changes
In addition to TECNO, DxOMARK and Samsung also participated in the webinar with the vice president and head of research and development of Samsung. He said that thanks to its Tetra and Nona technologies, Samsung is close to the point where smartphone brands will now be able to provide their customers with DSLR-level photos.
