AnTuTu: Snapdragon 8 Gen1 vs Dimensity 9000

Today, information about AnTuTu testing of a smartphone with Qualcomm's newest flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen1, appeared online. AnTuTu database shows that it scores 1025215 points. That is, the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 score exceeds the Dimensity 9000 score by 17819 points.

We will remind that the engineering model Dimensity 9000 scored 1007 396 points on AnTutu. This makes the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 the most powerful chip in the Android camp. However, several important points should be noted. First, the difference in scores is small and may not reflect actual performance. Second, these are only engineering models, and in reality they can vary significantly.

However, AnTuTu claims on Weibo that the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 cores are really efficient. The processor is clocked at 2995,2 MHz and the GPU model is Adreno 730. Furthermore, AnTuTu claims that the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 888 model.

Snapdragon 8 Gen1 has an average performance increase of about 20%. The performance of the graphics processor increases significantly, by about 37,5%. The score of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 GPU is 447 points.

Most often, after launch in mass production, the performance of processors increases. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is a flagship processor that uses Samsung's 4nm manufacturing process. It comes with a large Cortex X2 core clocked at 3,0GHz. It also has a medium core Cortex-A710 (2,5 GHz) and a small core Cortex-A510 (1,79 GHz).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is more expensive than MediaTek Dimensity 9000

MediaTek released the Dimensity 9000 processor a few days ago, and Qualcomm will release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor next week. The two main 5G processors have been upgraded using 4nm technology and the latest architecture. The competition between these processors will be fierce, and the Dimensity 9000 will want to take on several flagship smartphones.

According to reports from @DCS, both flagship processors will be very expensive. The Dimensity 9000 is almost twice the price of its predecessor, the Dimensity 1200. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 will be even more expensive than the Dimensity 9000.

As for the 5nm Dimensity 7000, @DCS says that chip will arrive after the first quarter of next year. Qualcomm will also iteratively update the Snapdragon 7 series processor. The main goal is to replace the Snapdragon 870 in the mid-range market, but the performance is significantly higher than the Dimensity 7000.

It should be noted that the relative prices given by @DCS are for the entire chipset, not the cost of just one processor.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
