Renders of the Tecno Pova 5G smartphone with key specifications have appeared online ahead of the official launch. Chinese mobile phone maker Tecno Mobile has long been rumored to be preparing to release its first 5G-enabled phone. The company's first 5G phone will be called the Tecno Pova 5G.
Tecno will foray into the 5G segment with the Tecno Pova 5G budget smartphone. It will be recalled that the company introduced its Tecno Pova 2 smartphone on the Indian market back in August this year. This phone replaces the well-received Tecno Pova that went official in China in 2020. The Pova series includes gaming smartphones with huge batteries. With a 6000mAh battery, the Tecno Pova 5G seems to follow the same strategy.
Tecno Pova 5G: Visualization and design
The upcoming Tecno Pova 5G smartphone will feature a giant 6,9-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel. This information comes from the YouTube channel, Tech Arena24. Also, official renders of the Tecno Pova 5G suggest that the smartphone will sport a punch-hole design at the center of the display. In addition, it will have a thick bezel at the bottom. A fingerprint scanner for secure biometric authentication is available on the side face. On the back panel is a rectangular camera module.
The 5G-enabled smartphone is likely to have three cameras on the back. They include a 50 MP main camera. Additionally, the Tecno Pova 5G will feature a quad-band flash. Unfortunately, there are still few details about the other sensors and the front selfie module. With all that, the renders show that the right side will house the volume and power buttons. The power key is also a fingerprint scanner. The video gives us an idea of the Aether Black color variant of the phone. Other color options are likely to be announced at the launch event.
Other key details
The 5G-enabled Tecno Pova smartphone will have the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC under the hood. In addition, the phone will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. On the software front, the Tecno Pova 5G will run on Android 11 operating system. It will be powered by a robust 6000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The phone offers several connectivity options such as Type-C port, headphone jack, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi.
Although there is no official confirmation, the Tecno Pova 5G smartphone is expected to cost between $280 and $300. However, exact pricing and availability will be announced at the time of the launch. The Tecno Pova 5G is likely to compete with the Redmi Note 11T 5G smartphone in India and some other regions. It is likely to hit the shelves in Africa in December.
