Samsung holds the record for the number of folding smartphones on the market with its Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The company's sales figure exceeds 1 million units in South Korea alone. According to available data, Samsung's goal is to sell 7 million units of third-generation foldable smartphones. Now Samsung seems to be aiming even higher for its foldable smartphones next year.
According to a new report from TheElec, Samsung's smartphone lineup will consist of 2022 models in 52. Samsung's goal is to make around 10 million foldable Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphones in the third and fourth quarters of 2022. This means that the company plans to sell at least 10 million foldable smartphones of the next generation. Samsung continues to improve its sophisticated smartphones, offering stronger designs and better features.
According to the report, Samsung aims to make around 38 million Galaxy S22 series smartphones by 2022. The company may also aim to sell more than 9 million Galaxy S21 FE smartphones, which are expected to be officially launched in January 2022. As part of the Galaxy A series (Galaxy A13, Galaxy 33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G), Samsung plans to produce 78 million devices.
Samsung is currently the largest manufacturer of foldable smartphones. The company has released three generations of sophisticated smartphones worldwide. With the release of Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, the company has significantly reduced the price. These models also feature a more powerful design and better features than their predecessors.
Samsung will increase the production of complex smartphones
Samsung believes in the future of foldable smartphones. The company is hard at work creating displays that will be used in future versions. Currently, the company produces about 260 units (complex displays) per month. However, this number is expected to grow as demand increases. By May, it is expected that the monthly output will be about 600 units. And by the end of the year, there will be about a million of them, which is about four times more than now.
This will serve not only to support the creation of the next Galaxy Fold, but also to supply all other companies that want to enter the complex sector. If this niche device does succeed and take off, as Samsung hopes it will, then the technological advances the company is currently working on will be richly rewarded.
The South Korean company will introduce its next Galaxy Fold this year with improved design and features.
