Redmi held a big event in China this week where it unveiled a slew of new products and more importantly the Redmi Note 11 series. The week isn't over and today the brand is unveiling the Redmi Smart Band Pro.
Previously there were rumors about a new fitness tracker, and now it is officially hitting the shelves of the Chinese market. This device, as the name suggests, is an improvement on the original Smart Band. This is achieved with additional hardware and some new features.
Specifications of Redmi Smart Band Pro
The Redmi Smart Band Pro flaunts a 1,47-inch AMOLED screen with a maximum brightness of 450 nits and a density of 282 pixels per inch. The screen is covered with 2.5D tempered glass. The body of the device is made of polycaprolactam (a type of nylon, plastic), reinforced with fiberglass and can be submerged to a depth of up to 50 meters under water. The strap, of course, is made of soft silicone.
Smart Band Pro comes with accelerometer, gyroscope and PPG heart rate monitor. It also has a light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness of the display.
Using the sensor, the device can detect more than 110 types of training, 15 of which are professional modes according to Redmi. There is also SpO2 (blood oxygen) tracking. This feature became quite popular last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and it's one of the easiest ways to check if your body's condition is deteriorating if you're infected.
The device is powered by a 200 mAh battery that charges via a small magnetic charger. Redmi Smart Band Pro will work for about 14 days with normal use or 20 days in power saving mode. Of course, this is only an estimate, and you need to collect user feedback to really know the average uptime.
Also introduced is the Redmi Watch 2 Lite
The company also presented the new Redmi Watch 2 Lite. This is a lighter version of the original smart watch. It has a more square design compared to the Band. The screen is a 1,55-inch LCD with a resolution of 320 x 360 pixels. Interestingly, the device has the same set of sensors and GPS.
The Redmi Watch 2 Lite is powered by a 266 mAh battery that lasts for 10 days with normal use or 5 days if you are a heavy user. In GPS mode, the device can work for 14 hours in a row.
