Xbox 20 years later: 32K at 480fps

Performance of Sony PS5 and Microsoft's Xbox exceed 10TPLOPS. But the advertised 4K 60fps performance is unreliable, and only the 1080p/60fps settings are still playable. So, what will the game console performance look like in 20 years? Microsoft recently released a video showcasing the performance of the Xbox 2042 console. The hardware it comes with is enough to run games at 32K resolution and 480 frames per second.

According to Microsoft's vision, the performance of the future Xbox console will reach 1 exaflop. That's 10 billion times more than we have today. At the end of this year and the beginning of next year, the next-generation supercomputers in China and the United States may reach level E for the first time. But the volume and power consumption of the supercomputers will be too high.

In addition to greatly improved performance, the architecture of such a device will differ from that of a traditional electronic computer. It will use a quantum computer that can support ultra-high resolution up to 32K, and the game's frame rate can reach 240 or even 480 frames per second. Just count for yourself how many times it beats current 1080p games at 60fps.

Xbox 2042 will not only be powerful, but will also change the entire gameplay. The game will achieve zero lag and no loading time. Also, the host can sync with different systems like cloud gaming in seconds.

At most, future games will be displayed holographically, like scenes in sci-fi movies. This will fundamentally change the gameplay.

Will the Xbox console really have this powerful performance in 20 years? In reality, no one can guarantee. So this is just Microsoft promoting the game "Battlefield 2042".

Battlefield 2042

As for the latter, today PCGamer revealed three new environments that are designed to support larger battles with up to 128 players.

It:

  • Renewal: An eclectic panorama of the Egyptian desert with a solar power plant on one side and a lush research center on the grounds.
  • Breakaway: It's in Antarctica. It consists of a sea platform near the Frost Coast and an observation station located above the battlefield. In these conditions, gamers fight in and out of icy rocks.
  • Discarded: This is a submerged village on the west coast of India. This map allows players to fight inside a ship while attacking with airships and tanks.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
