Huawei wants to extend the life of its smartphones

Chinese manufacturing giant Huawei is currently fighting for survival in the smartphone market, since the company said that it is not competing in the smartphone market, but simply trying to survive. Huawei's HiSilicon can develop advanced chips with 5nm or even 3nm technology. However, due to the US ban on Huawei, the company is currently unable to produce these chips. The Kirin 9000 was the company's last chip, and since then this processor has been discontinued. This has a significant impact on Huawei's smartphone business.

How will Huawei's mobile phone business develop without chips of its own development? Huawei has repeatedly stated that it will not abandon the mobile phone business and will not sell it and will continue to develop. Recently, some experts revealed Huawei's mobile phone business development strategy.

According to experts, due to the lack of chips, Huawei's strategy is to improve the performance of mobile phones with software. The company will use this special strategy to extend the life of Huawei mobile phones. This will also increase the number of users who will stick with Huawei smartphones.

The release of an open-source mobile phone operating system means that other mobile phone brands can also use HarmonyOS. The goal is to support the number of users so that future research and development of Huawei mobile phone chips can be better connected.

Some time ago, Huawei acquired a Qualcomm 4G chip, which will also extend the life of Huawei-branded mobile phones. This will give the company another two to three years.

HarmonyOS is Huawei's new strategy

Currently, about 350 million Huawei mobile phones are in use. The number of users who now have HarmonyOS 2 exceeds 120 million. By the end of the year, the number of users of HarmonyOS 2 on smartphones may reach 200 to 250 million.

On June 2, the company officially released the HarmonyOS system. In the first week, by June 9th, we already had over 10 million HarmonyOS users. In two weeks, this operating system had more than 18 million users. After a month of updates, HarmonyOS had more than 25 million users. By the end of July, this number had increased to more than 40 million. In less than two months, as of the beginning of August, this operating system had more than 50 million users. As of August 30, HarmonyOS had more than 70 million active users. However, a few days later (September 2), the company announced that it had more than 90 million users.
