To the great regret of those who are eagerly waiting for the OnePlus 9T series of smartphones, the Chinese technology company has confirmed that they will not be available this year. The Shenzhen-based consumer electronics manufacturer has revealed the reason it hasn't launched the much-anticipated series.
It stated that the company's current lineup includes flagships as well as budget offerings. These smartphones are able to satisfy different needs of consumers in different regions.
As a result, OnePlus believes that it does not need to launch the OnePlus 9T and OnePlus 9T Pro smartphones. In addition, the company assured that the OnePlus 9 series will remain competitive throughout 2021. Although the OnePlus 9T series smartphones will not see the light of day, the OnePlus 9RT will still be launched in the near future.
OnePlus 9T, 9T Pro smartphones will not be released
Last month, Max Jay's source suggested that the OnePlus 9T series smartphones would not be launched this year. However, the well-known insider did not reveal the reasons why the company might not launch the T version of its well-received OnePlus 9 line.
It was widely believed that OnePlus is not ready to offer anything fresh at this time. Others have speculated that the focus will shift to Oppo flagships, while OnePlus devices will be sidelined. According to a report by MySmartPrice, the company plans to launch its next flagship in 2022 on an integrated operating system that will be available on both OnePlus and Oppo smartphones.
OnePlus has now confirmed to 91mobiles that the OnePlus 9 lineup will not be getting a T-series version. Interestingly, the company has remained silent on its plan to launch the OnePlus 9RT. While the OnePlus 9 flagships are global models, the OnePlus 9RT will be available exclusively in China and India. It was previously reported that the OnePlus 9RT will be unveiled on October 15. It is worth mentioning here that the OnePlus 9RT is not the updated version of the OnePlus 9 series, but the 9R.
Technical characteristics (expected)
If the rumors circulating online are true, the OnePlus 9RT will sport a 6,55-inch AMOLED display with FH+ resolution. In addition, the display can provide a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. Under the hood of the phone, most likely, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset will be installed.
It can come with up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Also, it will run Android 11 out of the box with OxygenOS on top.
The 9RT will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel mono sensor at the back. It has a 16-megapixel camera on the front. In addition, a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging will power the entire system.
The unified operating system of OnePlus and Oppo will be launched next year. This integrated OS will be available for the OnePlus 10 series smartphones for the first time in 2022. The OnePlus 9RT and other current phones will receive a single OS update next year.
