Honor X20 Max: 7,2-inch display and Dimensity 1100 SoC

Now that most smartphones easily reach the display size of 6,7-6,8 inches, we stopped calling large devices "phablets".

The concept started with the Galaxy Note series, which pretty much started the big display trend. However, Chinese firms are pushing it forward, releasing devices with bigger and bigger displays every year.

In a world where most companies are comfortable with "standard" display sizes, Honor wants to become the new "king of phablets." Last year, the brand introduced Honor X10 Max 5G as one of the biggest smartphones. Now, as a separate company, Honor will bring back its "king of large displays" in the form of the Honor X20 Max.

Honor X20 Max 5G will receive a larger display and a large battery

According to Weibo account @ 菊 厂 影业 Fans, the Honor X20 Max 5G will be launched soon, and it will surpass its predecessor with a massive 7,2-inch display.

The new tablet-sized smartphone will also pack a massive 6000mAh battery and we can expect it to come with fast charging features.

Under the hood, we have an upper-midrange MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC. This chip is built according to the 6 nm standard and has four ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a clock frequency of up to 2,6 GHz. These are big improvements when we compare the new model to the Honor X10 Max, which has a smaller display and also has a smaller 5000mAh battery.

In addition to the larger display, the new phone is likely to retain the RGBW display of its predecessor. Unlike standard RGB panels, the RGBW panel provides lower power consumption. And less energy consumption is the key to the success of a smartphone with a massive display.

Hopefully Honor will join the high refresh rate trend this time. After all, having such a massive display with only 60Hz would be a waste of money. We can expect the 120Hz refresh rate to make this device the king of multimedia consumption.

Other possible updates

Honor will most likely restore the cameras, stereo speakers and fast charging technology. For example, the Honor X10 Max was released with support for 22,5 W fast charging.

I hope the sequel gets a faster charge this time. The X10 Max launched with two cameras — a 64MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Hopefully we'll get something better this time.

Other expected features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5, 3,5mm headphone jack and Nano-Memory-Card support.

The X10 Max had up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, we expect the X20 Max to follow suit for a possible increase in maximum storage.

The Honor X20 Max 5G will complete the Honor X20 trio, which already includes the Honor X20 and Honor X20 SE.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
