The iQOO 8 series of smartphones will arrive later this month, but details about the upcoming devices continue to surface online. The upcoming lineup was recently spotted on Geekbench.
The Geekbench listing gave us a clearer idea of what the series has to offer in terms of specs. In addition, the series includes two devices, the iQOO 8 and the slightly larger iQOO 8 Pro. The iQOO 8 series will launch in China on August 17 for 5299 yuan ($818).
Additionally, the smartphone brand from China has left no stone unturned in trying to create buzz around its upcoming phones. iQOO has released many teasers that hint at the features of the device.
As expected, the phones boast slightly improved features compared to their predecessors, the iQOO 7 series. The Pro model will have a 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 50W wireless charging. Under the hood, the phone will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ processor.
The technical characteristics of the iQOO 8 series have been revealed
The standard smartphone iQOO 8 cannot boast of loud characteristics. In other words, it might come with an FHD+ display, a Snapdragon 870 chipset, and support 120W fast charging.
Additionally, iQOO will once again team up with BMW Motorsport for its upcoming smartphones. On the other hand, the iQOO 8 Pro boasts an impressive array of features such as a 2K E5 AMOLED LTPO 10-bit display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate.
It will vary between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on the content displayed on the screen.
In addition, there is a perforated screen and narrow bezels in the center. Details about the exact dimensions of the display are still scarce. The Pro model can be equipped with a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor.
With all that said, the standard variant could have a Snapdragon 870. Alternatively, the two devices could run Android 11 out of the box with a custom iQOO skin on top. In addition, the series will be equipped with support for fast charging of 120 W. The Pro variant will support 10W reverse charging and 50W wireless charging, according to the post Weibo.
Other infused features and functions
IQOO 8 Pro will be equipped with three rear cameras. This includes a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 16MP camera with a focal length of 14-60mm. Rear-mounted cameras will support stabilization. It is rumored to come with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and offer a whopping 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
In addition, the phone could have a virtual RAM of 4 GB. Unfortunately, details about the standard model are scarce so far.
The company has released a poster showing the Pro variant with a hole in the center. Also, it appears to have curved edges. The right side of the smartphone contains the volume rocker and the power button. Both models may have a built-in fingerprint sensor. The Pro variant may have BWM logo stripes on the back.
