Once upon a time, ZTE was banned by the US government and forced to close its smartphone business.
However, the company found an agreement with the Trump administration, and after several changes in management, it was able to return to the market and resume the use of technologies associated with the United States.
Needless to say, the company had a great comeback. It was one of the first Chinese firms to ship a 5G smartphone with global bands, and last year it claimed to be the first smartphone maker to introduce a commercially available smartphone with an under-screen selfie camera. The company is currently preparing the second iteration of this technology through the ZTE Axon 30 5G.
Since February, the company promotes the second generation of its camera under the display. The company even revealed some demos and prototypes of this technology.
Earlier this year, the company introduced the ZTE Axon 30 Pro and 30 Ultra, and the technology was not present in either of those phones. The reason is that ZTE uses this technology for the successor of ZTE Axon 20 5G, Axon 30 5G.
Today we have official confirmation that the ZTE Axon 30 5G is coming soon with this second-generation UD camera. The company did not say when exactly, but unofficial sources point to a July 22 announcement.
Interestingly, the president of ZTE and Nubia Ni Fei has revealed that a brand new smartphone will appear this month.
ZTE Axon 30 will receive a Visionox display with advanced technology
Obviously, Visionox will be a major player for ZTE with the ZTE Axon 30 5G. The two companies have reportedly achieved a breakthrough with a new pixel arrangement that provides better clarity and better image quality.
These were the priority of the Chinese company when creating the second generation of its smartphone. According to information from ZTE from February, the pixel density above the camera will double from 200ppi to 400 PPI. This will make part of the camera less visible. In addition, the screen refresh rate will increase from 90 Hz to 120 Hz.
Unfortunately, we still don't know much about the hardware inside the ZTE Axon 30 5G. Although its siblings come with Snapdragon 888, we don't know if this smartphone will have the same.
It can support Snapdragon 870 SoC or even Snapdragon 780G. After all, the original Axon 20 was not a flagship in terms of performance.
ZTE will repeat this strategy to avoid making the Axon 30 insanely expensive. The device may have at least one 64-megapixel camera and a huge battery with fast charging technology.
If it does indeed arrive in July, we expect more details to emerge soon.
