The AOC company, which specializes in the production of monitors, has added a new model to its portfolio I1601P. Portable monitors are a simple solution that allows you to quickly assemble a system from several displays if necessary - on the road, at work, in a small home office. New 15,6-inch (39,5 cm) I1601P — compact and almost no different in size from a laptop display. The I1601P monitor has Full HD resolution and an IPS panel that provides color saturation, good sharpness and wide viewing angles (170°/170°). The device can be connected both via the USB-A connector and via USB-C thanks to a single cable that is included in the delivery set.
AOC I1601P Portable Monitor: Create a multi-display system using a hybrid USB connection
Whether you're working at home or in the office, a second monitor can boost productivity by doubling the usable screen area. Many users have already managed to make sure that working on one screen — for example, on a laptop display — complicates processes, clutters and overloads the space.
The same applies to work on the road. Users who are used to working with two displays at the office desk need the same high performance on the road - whether on the train, plane or just out and about.
In this case, a portable monitor will be an excellent assistant. AOC's portfolio of portable monitors includes many options. For example, the 15,6-inch I1601FWUX is equipped with USB-C connectivity, while the similarly specced I1659FWUX connects via USB DisplayLink technology, which uses a USB-A connector.
New model I1601P combines the best of both worlds with a hybrid single-cable solution. Laptops and devices that are equipped with USB-C can be easily connected to the I1601P with a single USB-C cable. When connected, the display receives power and video signal via USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode.

More than just flexibility
Although USB-C technology is becoming more common, older laptops and other devices are not always equipped with this connector. In this case, it is possible to transmit a video signal using DisplayLink technology through a regular USB-A port. This will instantly increase the performance of a number of old and new devices. DisplayLink drivers are available for download for various operating systems — Windows, macOS, Android, ChromeOS, Ubuntu.
USB-C DisplayLink technology in AOC I1601P
Due to the possibility of connecting both old and modern computers, several scenarios of using the I1601P can be distinguished. In offices or at home, where only some devices are equipped with a USB-C connector, and others - only USB-A, the I1601P guarantees the connection of an additional display. The convenience of such a solution is obvious: you can open e-mail or an instant messaging program on one monitor, and a Word document or spreadsheet on the other. You'll also be able to watch videos on one display and take notes on the other — you're only limited by your imagination!
Take it with you anywhere - absolutely safe
The I1601P's design is minimalistic, with a gray aluminum back panel and slim black bezels on the front. The included SmartCase cover will protect the display from scratches during transport and will also serve as a folding stand. Weighing only 800g, the monitor is light enough to be carried in a bag or backpack on planes, trains or on daily commutes.

The AOC I1601P uses a 15,6-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and a GtG response time of 5 ms. Thanks to a brightness level of 220 nits and an anti-reflective coating, the device can be used in almost any light, and the LowBlue technology will reduce the level of potentially dangerous blue light. You can install the I1601P monitor in both landscape and portrait modes. Access to the on-screen menu is via physical buttons or through software i-Menu. There you can also turn on the Auto-Pivot function.
The AOC I1601P monitor will go on sale in August 2021 at suggested retail price 7 hryvnias.
