Apple Watch Series 7 will sacrifice a lot for the sake of battery

will sacrifice a lot for the battery

When the first generation Apple Watch came out, Apple made a special emphasis on durability. At the time, the Cupertino-based company was touting its first smartwatch with up to 18 hours of battery life. Interestingly, this specification has not been changed until today. We mean that even the Apple Watch Series 6 provides 18 hours of battery life.

But it may improve in the near future. Well, let's not focus on the numbers, but we have to say that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 will offer a longer battery life. At least Apple is doing its best to that end.

According to some insider reports, Apple won't add many new sensors for more functionality. Instead, it works to increase battery life. However, before that Bloomberg argued that the Apple Watch will come with a body temperature sensor in the future. When this information came out, we thought that this feature would be present on the Apple Watch Series 7. But now, we think that Apple will not add anything new to make room for a bigger battery.

Also under the hood we will find the Apple S7 chip. It will move to a more compact two-way system in package (SiP). As you can guess, this will free up more space for the battery. But it should also be informed that the new watch will not differ from the current model in terms of size.

What we know about the Apple Watch Series 7

We recently received a couple of renders that show how the design of the watch could change. Also, we saw a new green color. The sides are going to be even. We believe this is a new design direction from Apple, which is already used in the iPhone and iPad. The renders also show thin bezels around the screens. In addition, we assume that Apple will use better lamination to reduce the gap between the display and the protective glass.

The upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 should improve UWB support. Even if there are no sugar and alcohol sensors, about which there are many rumors, we will see them in the upcoming models. Perhaps these monitoring features are already ready to appear on the 7th model. But more sensors mean less battery life.

So, if Apple is focusing on improving the 18-hour battery life of its smartwatches, it's unwise to add a lot of new sensors right now.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
