After many months, Redmi has finally entered the gaming segment with the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. Unlike other Snapdragon 888 and 870 devices, the K40 Gaming Edition supports the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.
At the moment, the device is still exclusive to the Chinese market, but it will make its global debut soon under the guise of the POCO F3 GT.
Today, Lu Weibin, head of the Redmi brand, revealed an interesting fact about this smartphone.
The CEO said on Weibo that more than 70% of Redmi K40 Gaming Edition owners have the 12GB RAM variant. This is a very significant percentage, considering that the phone is also available in variants with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM.
Apparently, some users don't even consider the price difference. More than half of Redmi K40 Gaming Edition buyers go straight to the best possible option. This is not a big surprise, as gamers tend to choose the best hardware. Lu Weibing used this post to ask his readers if they consider RAM and built-in memory when choosing a new smartphone.
Having a large amount of RAM is an important fact when running heavy games and performing multitasking duties. After all, more RAM will allow more programs or games to continue running in the background. The phone will not slow down and applications will not receive sudden reboots if there is enough RAM.
This is especially important for gamers, after all, no one wants your game to close just because you had to make a quick call or read a notification from a messaging app. For this reason, it is vital to have the best combo on a gaming smartphone.
