According to recent reports, the company is already making plans for 6G. A report by AJU Business Daily reveals that South Korea today announced a five-year national 6G project. The Asian country will invest a total of 220 billion won ($193 million) over the next five years for research and development of 6G Technology.
The country is partnering with the US, and it aims to launch commercial 6G by 2028.
This investment plan was put forward at today's 6G strategy meeting. Among the participants were representatives of the authorities, commercial companies, experts and scientists.
South Korea's Minister of Science and Information and Communication Technology Lin Hye-suk also said: “The next generation of mobile networks is the foundation of digital innovation. We must fully play our creativity and at the same time lead the international market in the 6G era based on our network experience and technology.”
According to the Samsung Communications Research Center, 6G is characterized by the provision of advanced services, such as true immersive augmented reality (XR), high-fidelity mobile holograms, and more. The development of the 6G network will face four main challenges

According to him, 6G will provide endogenous capabilities, self-evolution and self-optimizing networks. However, he believes that 6G will face the following challenges:
- The main theoretical innovations still need a breakthrough. Current theories and laws are approaching their limits. That means 6G will need some more sources of technological innovation
- Technical standards face the risk of differentiation. Whether 6G can form a global unified standard is unclear
- Uncertainty in the industrial model: "horizontal integration" and "vertical integration" of the industrial organization are questionable
- The complexity of ecological construction is increasing. 6G will expand more scenarios, integrate more industries, and expand the capabilities of industries.
