Cyberpunk 2077 returns to the PS Store: PS4 owners shouldn't buy it now

Success CD Project Red with the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and politics have made them one of the most reliable studios in the gaming scene. This raised the company to a new status and created a huge hype for Cyberpunk 2077.

The company announced several launch dates, only to push them back later. The game was not ready for release, but still the company had no more reasons for another delay and decided to release it in December 2020. The result was terrible performance on last generation consoles (PS4, Xbox One) and countless bugs.

After noticing the bugs and terrible situation in the game, many players filed complaints against the company. CD Projekt Red has promised to release an update to address bugs and improve performance. However, players are advised that those who are not satisfied get a refund from where they purchased the game.

Aside from retailers, Sony's PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store were the two places where console users could purchase the game. The problem with the Sony store is that their refund policy isn't the best. Due to the wave of users demanding refunds, the Japanese studio was forced to remove the game from the store and create a separate page where users could request refunds.

After many months and updates, CD Projekt RED doesn't seem to have won Sony's trust. Since yesterday, June 21, Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the PlayStation Store. However, there is a big warning for PS4 owners.

"Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition, while we continue to improve stability across all platforms," CD Projekt Red acknowledges. "The PS4 Pro and PS5 versions of the game will deliver the ultimate PlayStation experience."

Sony's listing for Cyberpunk 2077 also includes a similar warning. It goes a step further to try and discourage PS4 owners from buying the game.

"Not recommended for purchase for use on PS4 systems," Sony's listing reads. "For the best Cyberpunk experience on PlayStation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5."

With this huge warning, it's hard to say if the game will ever be "enjoyable" on the PS4 system. Having minimum hardware requirements is something common on PC, but this is the first time we've seen it on a console. CD Projekt RED may have restored Sony's trust, but it still has a long way to go to win over its fans.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
