Redmi Note 8 Pro and POCO F2 Pro receive MIUI 12.5

According to the latest reports, Xiaomi is already working on the release of MIUI 13. However, the company still has many devices to connect to the MIUI 12.5 firmware.

Today, the list gets smaller with the addition of Redmi Note 8 Pro and POCO F2 Pro. The first is a 2019 smartphone that was originally released with Android 9 Pie based on MIUI 10. The device now runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. The POCO F2 Pro, on the other hand, was released last year with MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

Redmi Note 8 Pro was a special case. After several years of using Snapdragon chipsets, the device is the first to receive a MediaTek chipset. In fact, it debuted with the Helio G90T, which has become one of MediaTek's most successful chipsets to date.

After initial distrust, the device won the hearts of many users and even developers around the world. To date, this is one of the most successful Redmi Note smartphones with a MediaTek chipset.

The device has been updated to Android 10 and Android 11, which also makes it one of the best MediaTek-based smartphones with software. We don't think it will get Android 12, but it might be eligible for MIUI 13.

Redmi Note 8 Pro is getting MIUI 12.5 update today with build number V12.5.1.0.RGGCNXM. The update is currently rolling out in China, but other regional variants may receive it soon.

LITTLE F2 Pro

The POCO F2 Pro was quite controversial at the time of its release. The device was the successor to the original Pocophone F1, but instead of the original attractive device, it was a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro.

It had a Snapdragon 865 chipset, but didn't impress with its 60Hz display. Despite this, the device has a large number of users worldwide.

The original Redmi K30 Pro received the MIUI 12.5 update in May. So the update for POCO F2 Pro doesn't come as a big surprise now. It's worth noting that the update only covers EEA variants with build number V12.5.1.0.RJKEUXM. In any case, the update will roll out to other regional variants in the coming weeks.

Unlike the above, this phone came with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. The device received MIUI 12 as well as Android 11 a couple of months after release.

Therefore, due to its flagship nature, it will definitely get MIUI 13 and Android 12 as soon as it becomes available.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
