Leica released its first smartphone: the Leitz Phone 1

The German photo brand Leica has long cooperated closely with Huawei, and it seems that the company's flagships have been recognized as one of the best in the field of mobile photography not without its participation.

But Leica does not want to be on the sidelines and limit itself only to the presence of a name plate on smartphones of third-party companies. Ambitions grew and already led to the release of the first smartphone - Leitz Phone 1.

Its announcement took place in Japan, and the choice of the country of release was not accidental. The fact is that after learning the characteristics of the Leitz Phone 1, they will seem familiar to many. The German brand simply changed the Sharp Aquos R6 nameplate to its own.

They are essentially twin brothers, and to avoid confusion between them, the Leitz Phone 1 changed the design of the main camera from a rectangular platform to a circular one.

This is a collaboration between Leica and Sharp. We give you the nameplate and optics, and you get a re-release of the same smartphone, but under our brand.

The device will be available only in the Japanese market, and for "prestige" they demand 1700 dollars. Whereas the Sharp Aquos R6 costs "only" $1056.

It will be difficult Leica explain to the consumer why he should overpay $650 for the brand.

The smartphone has a 6,6-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a Snapdragon 888 processor, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of permanent memory (Sharp Aquos R6 offered 128 GB).

The battery capacity is 5000 mAh. The main advantage of the device also remained intact — a 20,2-megapixel image sensor in the main camera.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
