Will Samsung use an under-display camera on the Z Fold 3 or S22?

The first smartphone with an under-screen camera was released by ZTE. But it's only logical that once this technology matures, major smartphone manufacturers will adopt it, and ZTE will be overshadowed. Samsung is one of those companies that are rumored to use this technology in their smartphones soon. In particular, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S22 should get this technology. It just means that not only will they be more innovative, but they won't have any cutouts.

Samsung Galaxy ZFold 3

As it proves @UniverseIce, the under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have 40% higher light transmission compared to under-display cameras on current smartphones. Simply put, this camera will absorb more light, making your photos look brighter and your videos less noisy. But it seems that the area of the screen above the camera will have a mosaic pattern. This is more noticeable when there is a white background.

As for the rest of the features, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 should have a 16-megapixel selfie sensor (Sony IMXx71). And although the resolution is quite high, the quality of the photo will be the same as that of cameras in the hole.

Under the hood, this phone will also house a Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB / 16GB of RAM and 256GB / 512GB of internal storage. On the front, we have a 6,2-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate. But for this, a structure with perforation will be used. The internal screen will be 7,5 inches. It will use a Super AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. They are HDR10+ certified.

Apart from the dual selfie cameras, the phone will also have a triple rear camera setup (12MP wide-angle camera + 12MP ultra-wide camera + 12MP telephoto camera) All of which will be capable of recording 4K video at 60fps.

Inside, the phone will have a 4400 mAh battery. In addition, there will also be stereo speakers with AKG tuning, GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, UWB, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a USB Type-C port. As for the system, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will run on Android 11 One UI 3.5.

Will the Samsung Galaxy S22 use sub-camera technology?

As already mentioned, the Galaxy S21 will be another Samsung brand smartphone with an under-display camera. But in addition to this, the phone's camera also has a number of important improvements. They include a sensor shift stabilization system and a camera module with continuous zoom.

Unfortunately, they are walking rumors which claim that Samsung has decided not to use an under-display camera system in the Galaxy S22 series. It turns out that the South Korean company was not satisfied with the image quality. Plus, manufacturing won't be able to deliver as many units as it needs for millions of Galaxy S22 phones. It is likely that this technology may debut not with the Z Fold 3 or S21, but with the Galaxy Note series in the second half of 2022.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
