ⓘ Huawei presented new products based on the HarmonyOS 2 operating system

Huawei has introduced a number of new products that work on the basis of the HarmonyOS 2 operating system. Users will get an intelligent experience of interacting with many devices in any scenario.

"The device as a system, the system as a whole. We live in an interconnected world. No one can stay away anymore - said Richard Yu, Executive and CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group. - The launch of HarmonyOS and the range of products based on this ground-breaking system is another example of our relentless efforts to provide the best user experience with a visionary approach.”

While today's smart devices are flooding the market, often the experience they offer can't be called intelligent. Disparate systems tend to complicate interactions and operations between devices, ultimately leading to a fragmented user experience.

HarmonyOS aims to solve this problem. As a next-generation operating system, HarmonyOS provides a common language for different types of devices and their interactions, and provides users with a more convenient, seamless and secure experience. The system works on distributed technology for flexible system software, as well as for combining independent devices into a single integrated "super device". HarmonyOS freely uses the capabilities of its components depending on the user's needs and provides a new type of connected experience thanks to system integration of devices as well as service widgets.

At the presentation, Huawei presented new products based on HarmonyOS 2. In particular, the Huawei Watch 3 series of smart watches and the Huawei MatePad Pro tablet.

The Huawei Watch 3 series is an independent smart assistant that matches the power of your smartphone

The flagship smart watch of the Huawei Watch 3 series is a reinterpretation of fashion on your wrist. A stylish gadget with a curved glass screen and a 316L stainless steel body. Equipped with a new crown that is able to understand different pressure levels and provide tactile feedback in response to the user's actions. With Huawei Watch 3, you can make calls and listen to music using your smartphone number and tariff plan.

The Huawei Watch 3 series is the first smartwatch based on HarmonyOS, which easily interacts with Huawei smartphones and serves as a multifunctional assistant on the go. The functionality is transferred from the smartphone to your wrist, thanks to which all information about trips and flights is always in front of your eyes. During the trip home from the airport on public transport, a reminder will appear on both the watch and the smartphone about the approach to the final destination. You no longer have to worry about the risk of missing your stop.

Huawei Watch 3 is a professional fitness and health assistant that supports up to 100 training modes. Equipped with a new high-precision temperature sensor, the watch is able to determine body temperature for the first time. In addition, it supports blood glucose monitoring, fall detection and has an emergency function, which means you can use the smartwatch to manage your health in real time. There is also a reminder function for small healthy habits that are easy to forget, such as when to drink water or take medicine.

Another advantage is battery life: 5 days in "smart" mode and 21 days in ultra-long mode for the Huawei Watch 3 Pro. For Huawei Watch 3, battery life is 3 days in "smart" mode and 14 days in ultra-long mode.

Huawei MatePad Pro: Enhanced performance that breaks down barriers for maximum creativity

The new Huawei MatePad Pro features a 12,6-inch FullView OLED display and a 90% screen-to-body ratio, the highest of any tablet on the market. Supported by the distributed data management and task scheduling capabilities of HarmonyOS, Huawei MatePad Pro seamlessly interacts with smartphones and PCs to double your productivity and creativity in a variety of scenarios: whether in the office or on the go.

In particular, Huawei MatePad Pro supports multi-screen interaction between tablet and PC. In mirror and extend modes, the tablet can become a graphics board or display. The drag-and-drop function between devices is also available, which provides a more efficient experience of their interaction.

New interactive experience of interaction of gadgets

Thanks to the Multi-device interaction function in HarmonyOS, managing several devices becomes even easier. The new multi-device control panel makes connecting gadgets convenient and intuitive thanks to drag and drop integration. It allows you to combine the operation of devices based on certain usage scenarios.

For example, to watch a movie at home late at night, you just need to open the control panel and drag the smart screen icon to the smartphone icon. The movie will "jump" from the phone to the TV. If you are using Huawei FreeBuds 4, drag the earphone icon to the smartphone icon. The movie will continue to play on the screen and the sound through the FreeBuds.

The new multi-device task center in HarmonyOS lets you move apps between different gadgets without having to install them on each individual device. All functions and services are available anywhere and anytime. The processes of performing tasks of other gadgets are reproduced on any device included in the Super Device system. If you need a larger display for mobile gaming, you can simply swipe up and point to the overview screen, then transfer the game to the Huawei MatePad Pro and continue the fun.

The main screen of the new HarmonyOS operating system is even more organized. You can swipe up on applications and create widgets of services, where information about access or service will be played in real time. Thus, there is no need to open the application itself. You can adjust the size of widgets by tapping on apps and swiping across the screen, and you can tap anywhere on the screen to hide them.

Innovative device interaction experience combined with aesthetic design. Specially designed Sans font for HarmonyOS and gravity animation provide a comfortable experience on all HarmonyOS-enabled devices.

To equip devices of other brands with intelligent functions, Huawei HiLink has been upgraded to HarmonyOS Connect. Smart home devices can be connected to a smartphone with a simple touch. You just need to touch the HarmonyOS-based Midea oven with your smartphone and choose a recipe for instant cooking. With the Haier refrigerator, food can be stored longer by automatically adjusting the temperature inside based on the type of food. And get the perfect soy milk thanks to Joyoung's soy machine, which can suggest recipes based on your data in the Health app. Combined, these devices can become your personal health coach.

Strengthening data security

The smoothness of HarmonyOS has been greatly improved. After 36 months of use, HarmonyOS smartphones can maintain read/write speeds similar to those of new phones, even with a small amount of memory for data storage.

HarmonyOS supports the advanced security technologies of the EMUI user interface. The company's goal is to provide access to the necessary data on one device for only one person, as well as the security of each process: storage, transfer and use of data in all scenarios. With shared authentication enabled, users can unlock their smartphones with facial recognition.

In addition, HarmonyOS categorizes user data and protects devices by level, setting specific security thresholds for super devices. Only devices that meet all security requirements can access data according to their security level. HarmonyOS applications are tested at all stages of development, launch, installation and use. This ensures high reliability of the ecosystem.

Also at the event, Huawei presented FreeBuds 4 - semi-open wireless Bluetooth headphones of the new generation with active noise cancellation (ANC), and two top monitors - MateView and MateView GT.

HarmonyOS provides users with convenient, smooth and reliable device experience in all scenarios.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
