Vivo had launched the Vivo V21 5G in India last month, but the other expected variants never appeared. Apparently, that will change soon with the Vivo V21e 5G will be played past the Google Play Console. The device was spotted alongside another smartphone called the Vivo Y73. The smartphones come with model numbers V2055 and V2059, respectively, and share similar specifications and looks. However, there is a big difference between the two – one is a 5G phone and the other is an LTE-only device.
Vivo V21e 5G will be equipped with MediaTe Dimensity 700 SoC. For those who don't know, it's a 7nm chip with an Octa-Core configuration. It has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2,2 GHz plus six energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2,0 GHz. Instead, the Vivo Y73 comes with a MediaTek Helio G90 chipset. This is a gaming chipset that uses the old 12nm architecture. It comes with two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2,05GHz and six energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2,0GHz. The Helio G90 outperforms the Dimensity 700 in games only because of its more powerful GPU. However, the 5G SoC is better for everyday tasks and is much more efficient.
Vivo V21e 5G and Vivo Y73 have similar specs except for the chipsets
Apart from different chipsets and modems, everything else is the same. The smartphones have FHD+ displays, 8GB of RAM and Android 11 out of the box. If they are intended for international markets, we can expect FuntouchOS skins. If they're going to China, we're guessing they'll have OriginOS instead. The devices also share the same look, with a waterdrop display and volume buttons on the right side. Of course, we must keep in mind that these images may not be true.
The device has a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. For this reason, it can be assumed that it has an LCD display. Unless Vivo switches to an OLED display but ditches the fingerprint scanner to save some costs. Unfortunately, we still don't have many details about these two smartphones. We have to wait for Vivo to reveal more information about them. Given their appearance on the Google Play Console now, we wouldn't be surprised if they arrive by the end of next month.
