Today Weibo an expert has revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi CC10 series will be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 870. In addition, it will have a flexible screen. Prior to this, the same source had reported the phone's battery capacity, saying it would reach 4360mAh. For now, that's all we know about the upcoming smartphone series.
As you remembered, back in 2019, Xiaomi and Meitu signed a cooperation agreement. Based on the latter, Xiaomi took over the management of Meitu's smartphone business. Shortly after this deal, the company announced the Xiaomi Mi CC9 series. At the same time, Mi CC9 Pro became the first mass smartphone with a 100-megapixel camera. In addition to these two, there was a third model, a customized version of the CC9 Meitu.
It is worth mentioning that this year Meitu took away the authorization of Meitu smartphones. We have heard reports that Xiaomi has discontinued the CC series. But for almost a year now, we have been receiving various information about the next models of the CC10 line. For example, back in June 2020, we received information that the Xiaomi Mi CC10 will be equipped with a 120x telephoto lens. Shortly after this leak, we saw several protective cases that revealed the actual appearance of the upcoming device. In addition, our main character was even spotted in spy photos.
Xiaomi Mi CC10 processor
Well, today's leaked information says that the Xiaomi Mi CC10 will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chip. As mentioned, this is a pseudo-flagship chip. But before that, we saw the alleged CC10 Pro leaked on GeekBench with a Snapdragon 865+ chip. So we hope that the manufacturer originally had plans to release this model earlier and on the basis of an older chip.
In this regard, it is quite interesting to look at similarities and differences between these two chips.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G integrates a fast "Prime Core" with a clock frequency of 3,2 GHz and 3 additional ARM Cortex-A77 cores with a clock frequency of 2,42 GHz. There are also four power-saving ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1,8 GHz. Compared to the similar and older Snapdragon 865+, the Prime Core is 100MHz faster and the GPU is slightly faster.
It also integrates the Qualcomm X5 55G modem with Sub-5 and mmWave support and global 5G bands with speeds of up to 7,5 Gbps (download). Additionally, it packs an Adreno 650 GPU inside, which offers a slightly higher clock speed of 670 MHz.
