Honor released a couple of smartphones during its independence from Huawei. Although it will take some time for the company to make a name for itself, it is doing quite well. According to reports, the Honor Play5 will be launched on May 18. Today, the company released another teaser of this smartphone. According to the new teaser, this smartphone will support 66W of super fast charging.
From the teaser, we also see that the Honor Play5 will use a “drop” screen design. This device will be equipped with a quad rear camera. There is currently no information about the Honor Play5. However, popular source @DCS recently revealed some information regarding this device.
According to him, the Honor Play5 will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor. It's the same chip as the Honor V40 light luxury version, which retails for 2999 yuan ($466). The body thickness of this smartphone is only 7,46 mm and the weight of this device will be 179 g.
In the camera department, this smartphone will use a quad rear camera setup. In particular, this smartphone uses a 64-megapixel main camera. In addition, it also has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Well, that's not bad at all for a mid-range smartphone. However, this is probably the only interesting thing about the camera hardware of this device. For its front camera, there is currently no information regarding the specifications of this device. Also, this device uses a 3800 mAh battery.
If this smartphone really supports 66W fast charging as the teaser says, then reaching a full charge will be quite fast. Given that this device has a 3800mAh battery, it should reach a full charge in about 30 minutes.
Other specifications of Honor Play5
In addition, @DigitalChatStation claims that the Honor Play5 will feature a 6,53-inch FHD+ OLED panel. The refresh rate of this display is currently unknown, hopefully it should be high. Also, there is no visible fingerprint sensor on the back. This means that this device will use either a side-mounted fingerprint sensor or an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Looking at the specifications of this device, the Honor Play5 appears to be a pretty decent mid-range smartphone. We are sure that users will not have any problems with the battery considering its fast charging. What are your thoughts on the Honor Play 5? Let us know in the comments section below!
