Xiaomi is one of the Chinese smartphone brands that later became more relevant, and today it is so famous that it competes with global companies, including in its own country. Mobile phones can update the ROM version of the phones with the Android operating system.
This operation can be performed in three different ways, which we will show below in this article step by step.
Installing ROM with Fastboot
We will start with Xiaomi Flashing Tool and finish with Fastbook for developers. Once downloaded, we will proceed to install them to update the ROM.
Step 1
First, we must turn off our Xiaomi and then turn it on by pressing the power and "volume up" buttons at the same time, this way we will enter Flashboot to be able to install the update that we previously downloaded to our computer.
Step 2
The next step is to connect Xiaomi to the computer and make sure that it was recognized. Then you need to unzip the file and proceed to copy the extracted files.
Step 3
Let's go to the flashing tool that was previously installed on our computer. To access it, we will paste the files previously copied into the upper window and press the first yellow button on the right.
Step 4
After the tool recognizes that the equipment is connected, we will press the next red button, then the tool will start flashing, and will automatically reboot when finished.
Download ROM and install on Xiaomi
The next method that exists is to download the update to the phone and install it directly from our Xiaomi device. It should be clarified that if we want to install a newer firmware than the current one on the equipment, no information will be lost.
But if you want to return to the old version of the firmware, in this case you will lose all the information.
Step 1
After downloading the update file, connect the Xiaomi phone to the computer, and then copy the update file, which is in the downloaded rom folder of our Xiaomi phone.
Step 2
Then open the Updater application on Xiaomi, go to the menu and then click Select Installation File. Then we have to put in Select Installation File the ROM that we downloaded and copied from the downloaded rom folder. Next, select the "Update now" or "Update" option, and then wait for the installation to begin.
Step 3
After the ROM installation is done, we have to click the "Reboot" button and now we just need to wait for the phone to reboot until it starts up normally.
Installing the update from MIU Recovery
This last procedure is one of the easiest to perform, it consists of the following steps that we must follow.
Step 1
After downloading the ROM, the next step is to change the name of our file to Update.zip, then we connect our device to the PC with a USB cable and copy the file to the internal memory of the device.
Step 2
To enter recovery mode, we must turn off the device and turn it on by pressing the volume up and power buttons at the same time.
Step 3
Use the volume keys to select the Install update.zip option and use the power button to confirm the selection. And to complete the installation, we must reboot the phone to complete the entire process.
