In September of last year, Harmony OS 2.0 was officially presented - a new version of Huawei's operating system, which will soon reach the brand's smartphones. The moment of its launch is approaching, and now we have been able to see the first video showing its interface side by side with the current Huawei EMUI 11 interface.
Months ago, it was already mentioned that in 2021, the first Huawei phones are going to use Harmony OS as their operating system. Now it is known when we can expect the launch of this system in the brand's phones.
Wang Chenglu, Huawei's president of software and business director of AI, has confirmed the date when we can expect Harmony OS to launch on the firm's mobile phones. We won't have to wait too long because it will be officially launched in early June.
EMUI 11 vs Harmony OS
The dates are finally set, although at this point it is not known which phones will be in the brand's catalog and will have access to this update. Certainly, the newest folding Mate X2 is the first. EMUI 11 smartphones are also expected to have access to this update as well.
Over the summer, Huawei released an update to Harmony OS for more phones, as well as the company's pre-sale Honor models. The brand's plan is to transfer all its phones to this new operating system by the end of the year. For this reason, the update will be released in different phases.
In addition, a video has already been leaked comparing this operating system with EMUI 11, which is currently present in many Huawei models. Harmony OS is expected to provide a smoother operating style on phones from Chinese brands. If all goes well, in literally a month we'll be able to see if this experience really is better.
Recently, Huawei started a public beta test of the new version of its operating system HarmonyOS 2.0. This is reported by the Sparrow News portal, which refers to the publications of some popular Chinese bloggers on the Weibo platform. The latter indicate that various devices of the manufacturer have already begun to receive a new version of the firmware.
HarmonyOS 2.0 updates range in size from 2,87GB to 6,20GB depending on the model. It is reported that the scope of the beta test will increase in the summer and the company plans to expand the sample of users who will be able to download the update.
