One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 for Samsung Galaxy M40

Samsung is doing a great job with Android 11 for its smartphones. We are fast moving towards the release of Android 12, but many companies have yet to provide Android 11 for devices launched with Android 10. In this regard, the Korean firm is doing everything to leave its past behind. If you remember, Samsung was one of the smartphones that contributed to the constant fragmentation of Android. But that changed with One UI. Today the company adds more one mid-range smartphone to the list of Android 11 smartphones – the Galaxy M40.

It's a big surprise when the Samsung Galaxy M40 gets the Android 11 update. We're pretty sure Samsung hasn't given more than one update to a device that's between the low-end and mid-range segments since the past. However, as we mentioned above, the company is making every effort to clear its name and ensure consistent software support for all smartphones, regardless of whether they belong to the premium or mid-range categories. The Galaxy M40 arrived with Android 9 Pie and was updated to Android 10 last March. Android 11 will now be the second major software update coming to this phone. We're guessing this is the end of the line for the 2019 smartphone in terms of major Android updates. However, Samsung can still provide timely security patches for this phone.

One UI 3.1 has arrived on the Galaxy M40 with new features and improvements

The new Galaxy M40 firmware comes with the version number M405FDDU2CUC6 and requires a lot of space – 2GB. It comes with the March 2021 Android security patch. In addition to Android 11, we have the latest Samsung One UI 3.1. The new update comes with updated visuals, design improvements and performance improvements. As for Google's software, it adds chat bubbles, one-time microphone and location permissions, conversation notifications, a multimedia widget in the quick settings menu, and a new Samsung keyboard app.

It is worth noting that the update is gradually coming to India. Samsung releases firmware for limited public. Then, if everything goes smoothly, the company will begin a wider rollout over the next few days. If you are impatient, you can try your luck by going to Settings >> Software Update Menu to check it manually.

As we mentioned above, it's pretty surprising to see a two-year-old smartphone getting Android 11. This certainly brings hope for owners of all the original Galaxy A and M smartphones that came out in 2019.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
