Apple has scheduled an event to take place next Tuesday, April 20. Today, everything indicates that the company will introduce new iPads with revolutionary Mini-LED screen technology. The company may also reveal a possible final version of some of its software solutions. However, there is a chance for the Cupertino giant to go much further, as the well-known and reliable L0vetodream revealed on Saturday (17) that there are indications that Apple will introduce new iMac models.
The most interesting point highlighted by the tip is that the Cupertino company may be using the event's logo to hide a surprise: the new iMacs could come in different colors. The tip uses older models of the G3 iMac line as an example. According to him, Apple can revive this market strategy with color iMacs. We're seeing more and more colorful smartphones these days, and it's only natural to see companies trying to bring this trend back to the computing world. Apple will certainly gain an added appeal due to the nostalgic feeling it will bring to anyone who used the colorful G3 models.
The return of colored iMacs
As expected, Apple will not comment on these leaks. However, L0vetodream's post confirms previous information John Prosser relayed. Prosser often leaks information about upcoming Apple products. For those who don't know, it revealed that Apple is expanding its color palette in the iMac line. Apparently, the company wants to follow the strategy adopted with last year's iPad Air. In addition to new multi-color fonts, the new iMacs will come with Apple's latest Silicon chipset and some design changes. As part of these design changes, the 21,5-inch iMac models will get bigger with a 24-inch display. 27-inch models will reach 30-inch or even 32-inch sizes.
These specific models were revealed a few weeks ago in the macOS Big Sur beta 5 firmware update. Fortunately, we don't have to wait long to know if these rumors are accurate. After all, Apple's next big event is just a couple of days away.
As for the mini LED iPads, the brand may announce them at the event. However, they may not hit the market immediately, as the company is also suffering from a shortage in the supply of mini LED displays.
