China's smartphone market is the most competitive in the world, as well as the largest. So much attention is paid to the Chinese market because capturing China is almost impossible for any manufacturer.
Today we are going to take a look at the top 10 Android smartphones that are the most accepted or highly rated devices in China for March 2021. This list is based on a recent AnTuTu survey.
While Huawei used to be the "king" in China, it seems that its popularity is slowing down. Meizu seems to be on the rise as it claims four spots in the TOP 10 list. Of course, this is a list for Android smartphones, so there is no Apple device here. However, another Android giant, Samsung, only had to settle for two spots
Notable absentees from this list include Xiaomi, OnePlus and Vivo. To be honest, their absence is nothing short of a surprise. Oppo is doing well globally, but it doesn't seem to be highly rated in China. Only Oppo Find X3 Pro made it to this list.
As we said before, the data comes from AnTuTu score and it covers the period from March 1st to March 21st, 2021.
Here are the top 10 highly rated smartphones in China for March 2021
Huawei Mate 40
It's no surprise that a Huawei phone tops this list. However, the surprise is that this is the only Huawei device on the list (excluding Honor). The Huawei Mate 40 has been among the top three Android smartphones in China for several months now. It has a high rating of 98,04%.
This smartphone was launched in December 2020 and is the cheapest model in the Mate 40 series. It comes with Huawei's Kirin 9000E SoC, which is slightly lower than the Kirin 9000. However, the overall performance of the chip is still flagship.
Meizu 17 Pro
The Meizu 17 Pro is the first of four Meizu smartphones to receive a lot of praise in China. The smartphone has a rating of 97,97% and could be in the top spot. Well, this device comes with the “old” 7nm Snapdragon 865 SoC, so it’s not a 2021 flagship smartphone.
It also comes with LPDDR5 RAM + UFS3.1 flash storage. Fortunately, this rating mostly takes into account design, appearance, screen material and other details. If chips come into play, we're pretty sure this device will drop off this list.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
In third place is the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G with a favorable rating of 97,82%. This smartphone beats its older counterparts to claim a spot on this list.
In this highly rated list of smartphones, the Galaxy S20 has consistently remained the same. This is an early 2020 smartphone, so it uses a 7nm processor – the Snapdragon 865.
Honor 30 Pro +
If we consider Honor as part of Huawei, it will be the second and last Huawei device in the list. The Honor 30 Pro + was released when Huawei was still in charge of Honor. This smartphone was launched in April 2020 and it has a 7nm+ Kirin 990 SoC.
Its dual curved screen, thin bezels, dual-aperture camera design, and rear camera module combined with the price earned this device a place on this list. It has a rating of 97,75%.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G
The acceptance level of this smartphone is 96,55 and we are not completely surprised here. Of course, it's a Galaxy Note phone, and that's always a good sight.
A few design highlights of this device include its extremely boxy look as well as stylus support. Although this is not new to the Galaxy Note series.
This device also uses an ultra-slim bezel and the design of the rear camera module is attractive.
Gaming phone Black Shark 4 Pro
The Black Shark Gaming Phone 4 Pro is the only gaming smartphone on this list and has an acceptance rate of 96,36%. Although many people think that Black Shark is owned by Xiaomi, it is not. Black Shark is a stand-alone company that never made headlines until Xiaomi invested in it.
Therefore, Xiaomi has a stake in Black Shark, but does not own Black Shark. This phone is a gaming device with ultra slim bezels, a central camera as well as a rear horizontal camera. The overall feel of this device isn't exactly smooth enough to give gamers a good grip. No wonder he has a place on this list.
Meizu 17
If Meizu isn't doing well right now, it's all about its marketing. The company produces good Android smartphones, and the level of acceptance of Meizu phones in China confirms this. It is one of the few manufacturers that stick with a horizontal rear camera design.
This smartphone has an acceptance rating of 96,32%.
Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro
Interestingly, both Android smartphones from the Meizu 18 series are among the top 10 most accepted smartphones in China. Both the smartphones were launched in March this year and they share the same design and looks. This series ditches the horizontal rear camera setup for a vertical one, similar to the Honor 30 Pro +.
Dual-curve display, ultra-smooth image and full-screen look. As for the acceptability rating, the Meizu 18 scores 95,36%, while the Pro model scores 94,09%.
OPPO FIND X3 PRO
The last device in this list is the Oppo Find X3 Pro, which is also a March 2022 smartphone with a unique design. The Find X3 Pro comes with four quad rear cameras in a protruding camera module. The camera protrusion is unique because there is no joint between the back cover and the camera module.
The sensors are slightly sunk into the ledge so there is no direct contact between the surface and the sensor. This device received an acceptance rating of 93,87%.
Whether it's an Android phone or an iPhone, a glass back shows more colors, especially if it uses AG technology. Although plastic, solid leather and ceramics also add creativity to the exterior design.
