April security update for Pixel devices is out

Google usually releases monthly security updates for all Android devices. However, Google is not responsible for which device receives this update. Manufacturers will decide whether to release this security patch to their devices. Whenever Google releases this update, Pixel smartphones are usually the first to get it. This is due to the fact that Google is directly responsible for its Pixel smartphones. However, small changes took place in April. A few days ago, several Samsung devices started receiving the April security update.

Now there are reports that Google Pixel smartphones are now getting the April security update. According to Google's schedule, this update will start on April 5th. However, most Pixel devices are getting this update today.

Developers can now review the April 2021 Android Security Bulletin, which details numerous security vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities affect open-source components, as well as some closed-source components from vendors such as Qualcomm and MediaTek.

As we've said before, it's not very often that other manufacturers get a monthly security update before Pixel phones. However, several of Samsung's flagship smartphones already have the April security patch. The changelog is technically the same as we have above.
