Due to the sudden pandemic of the coronavirus, the enthusiasm of enterprises to move to the cloud was unprecedentedly high. Last year, Huawei Cloud ranked second in the Chinese public cloud market. In addition, Huawei's cloud service is also the most flexible in the world. These statistics were released by Huawei Chairman Aue Hu Hukun today at the annual reporting conference.
According to Huawei's annual report, in 2020 the company's global sales revenue was 891,4 billion yuan ($135,7 billion). This is an annual increase of 3,8%. In addition, the company also recorded a net profit of 64,6 billion yuan ($9,8 billion), up 3,2% year-on-year.
As in previous years, Huawei's annual report published relevant financial data for three main businesses, including operators, consumers and enterprises. However, the company did not disclose financial data related to the cloud business. The company includes its cloud business as part of its enterprise business. However, according to Hu Hokun, the growth rate of Huawei Cloud in 2020 is as high as 168%.
"Huawei Cloud has made great efforts in the field of ecology." The annual report shows that Huawei Cloud has launched more than 220 cloud services, more than 210 solutions, and received more than 80 authoritative security certificates around the world. The company also cooperated with more than 19 partners, bringing at least 000 developers and more than 10 applications to the cloud market.
Huawei's smartphone business is still in decline
It is interesting that Huawei is still doing well despite the retreat from the US ban. In fact, the US ban mainly affects only Huawei's smartphone business. In this regard, the company's business with smartphones is declining. It had to sell off its Honor sub-brand to protect the brand from complete collapse.
So far, his smartphones have been largely unavailable due to the ban. However, it does not have access to the new flagship chips. As such, it must settle for the supplies it received from TSMC before the ban began. The problems between the US and Huawei don't seem to be going away anytime soon. The new US government is just as tough on Huawei as the old one. After the Huawei P50 series, the company will most likely run out of flagship chips. What will happen to Huawei's smartphone business after this? Well, there is no direct answer to this question. We'll just have to wait a few months and see what happens.
