Finally, Meizu 18 series Flyme 9 OTA update unlocks 2K+120Hz operation

Earlier this month, specifically on March 2nd and March 3rd, Meizu officially launched the Flyme 9 and Meizu 18 series respectively. The Meizu 18 series has two models, which include a standard model and a Pro model. Both the Meizu 18 and the Meizu 18 Pro come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. This is Qualcomm's latest flagship processor that most Android flagship phones use. These smartphones use the Samsung E4 SuperAMOLED screen with a resolution of 3200 × 1440. It has a peak brightness of 1300 nits.

At the launch conference, Meizu stated that the screen of this phone cannot activate 2K + 120Hz at the same time. However, a promise from the company shows that it will unlock this feature in the future. Well, the future is here and an OTA update will bring this feature. Today, Meizu has officially pushed the Flyme 9.0.1.0A system update for the mobile phone. This update unlocks the 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ screen resolution. With this update, users can enable both 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution at the same time.

While the display is the main update of the update, it also comes with other features and upgrades. This update also significantly improves the battery life of these smartphones. In addition, the overall performance of this series is also much better. Additionally, this update also optimizes battery heating issues. This allows the gaming characteristics of the Meizu 18 series to be more stable.

To date, other smartphones from Meizu do not have this update. At this moment, Flyme 9.0.1.0A is only available for the media version of Meizu 18 series mobile phones. However, we expect this OTA update to be available for all users of this series in the near future.

In addition, Meizu has officially released a poster stating that the previous generation Meizu 17 series flagship phones will launch the Flyme 9 system with zero ads, zero clicks and zero pre-installation in May 2021.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
