The website Letsgodigital has published the first high-quality images of Samsung's upcoming all-new foldable smartphone. Its screen will be able to bend in two places and increase the area three times.
Published images suggest that the hinged parts of the new device will support a 360-degree screen bend, meaning the smartphone can be folded like an accordion or like a wallet.
The name of the dual smartphone is still unknown. There is speculation that Samsung might call this device Galaxy Z Duo-Fold or Galaxy Z Tri-Fold. According to Nikkei Asia, the screen may have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 18:9 when unfolded.
It is not known how much such a smartphone will cost, but it can be assumed that it will be more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which entered the market at a price of $ 1999.
According to Nikkei Asia, this smartphone should hit the market later this year.
Xiaomi's foldable smartphone is also coming soon
Rumors about the imminent release of Xiaomi's first folding smartphone with a flexible screen have been strongly confirmed. Enthusiasts found a video in the proprietary MIUI firmware that schematically shows the operation of the Mi Mix Fold.
The video was found in the MIUI Camera app, showing quick access to the smartphone's camera in open and closed states. Apparently, the Mi Mix Fold is a remake of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. It folds with the main screen inward, leaving the secondary screen on the outside.
The evidence points to Turkish website TechinDeep, which previously shared details about the device's specifications and high-quality images.
According to preliminary information, the smartphone has a flexible AMOLED screen; with a resolution of 2480 x 1860 pixels and a screen refresh rate of 90 Hz; and an auxiliary external AMOLED screen with a resolution of 840 x 2520 pixels.
The official debut of Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold will take place in the second quarter of 2021. Its official presentation may take place at the upcoming event on March 29.
