Google Android 12 Developer Preview 2 has been released

At this time, Google is working on its latest system, Android 12. Before the official stable version is released, this system will go through several processes. It will have to go through a developer preview, a public beta stage, before a stable version is released. The developer preview and public beta will have several phases. Android 12 Developer Preview 2 (DP2) went live this morning. The full package download is now available for Google Pixel 3 and later devices.

According to the release schedule, Android 12 will be available to the public after August 2021. This system will enter public beta in May 2021. According to the agreement, in the beta phase, some Chinese smartphones will be part of the update. The likes of Xiaomi and OnePlus are sure to participate in the first public beta. In the official log, DP2's main changes compared to DP1 / 1.1 focus on developer convenience. There are too many bugs in the actual functions and interfaces. Several features are not quite ready for public testing. Features such as support for rounded corners, picture-in-picture animation, and others require additional work. These features will be more fluid and customizable.

Additionally, there are reports that Android 12 Developer Preview 2 brings significant changes to the dark mode. According to XDA, the dark mode changes from pure black to a lighter gray color. With the release of the latest version, the theme changes from dark black-black to light gray. Google claims that even a gray theme can save energy on an OLED display compared to white. So it's reasonable to think that light gray will reduce battery consumption.

It also adds one-handed mode and gestures to open the notification panel. With this update, the feature gets a full menu with three options. First enable/disable to actually enable the feature. There is also a second lever to automatically turn off the one-handed mode when switching between programs. Finally, there is an option to exit the mode with one hand after a set time.

In addition, the new widget selection pages and notification bar media center adapt better to the theme. In addition, the color, lock screen, PIN input, and interface template get a new look. It should be noted that from historical experience there is a large degree of uncertainty in the functions of the DP stage, including the interface.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
