POCO cemented its name forever in the smartphone industry with the release of the Pocophone F1. The device brought the flagship chipset of 2018 - Snapdragon 845 to an insanely low price. Unfortunately, the company has not repeated this feat since its return last year. The brand launched a slew of rebranded Redmi phones in the early months of last year, but in September it brought us a pleasant surprise in the form of the POCO X3 NFC. This device has become a real smartphone that offers value for money and offers a huge battery with fast charging, a 120 Hz screen, stereo speakers, NFC and more. Everything is now pointing to the release of the POCO X3 Pro, which is likely to be the brand's next flagship killer.
While the POCO X3 NFC or POCO X3 in India is an exceptional device with a good set of specifications, it still sits in the mid-range segment. The phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G. Reports now suggest that the POCO X3 Pro will come with a Snapdragon 8xx series chipset, upping the game by a few miles.
POCO X3 Pro comes with Gorilla Glass 6
A couple of days ago, POCO confirmed the launch of the POCO X3 Pro in India on March 30 in a cryptic tweet. However, Anuj Sharma's POCO India has clearly not revealed the name of the smartphone. Now, in a new development, Anuj has shared a teaser video that has confirmed that the upcoming flagship smartphone will come with Gorilla Glass 6. This is the latest and most advanced version of Corning's protective glass. Despite this revelation, Anuj did not reveal the name of the flagship smartphone. However, we do know that this flagship will arrive on March 30. So, everything points to the POCO X3 Pro. Gorilla Glass 6 protection can withstand up to 4 Newton loads and 28 kg of pressure. It is much stronger than its predecessor. The remaining details of the upcoming POCO X3 Pro such as the chipset, camera sensors, display size and battery capacity remain unknown as of today.
POCO X3 Pro specifications
POCO X3 Pro is expected to deliver many of its features. It includes a 6,67-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5160mAh battery and 33W fast charging. The phone will also have the same phone design, including the controversial looking camera island. However, the main camera drops to 48 megapixels. The rest of the sensors should be 13-megapixel ultra-wide and 2-megapixel macro and depth sensors.
Right now, the chipset behind the phone remains a mystery. Some reports are pointing to the Snapdragon 855+, while others are talking about the unreleased Snapdragon 860. One thing we do know is that the POCO X3 Pro will have a chipset that is better than the Snapdragon 732G, but it's also only a 4G chipset.
A recent report by 91Mobiles revealed that the phone comes in two storage options. The base model will have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in memory. A more advanced version will provide 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The smartphone is usually available in three colors – black, blue and bronze.
The starting price of POCO X3 Pro in India is expected to be around INR 21. That's about $000.
