No need to worry as I have listed the 10 best smartphones for photography.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
If you're looking for a phone that can take photos with great detail, the S21 Ultra is the one to go for. The S20 lineup was launched back in January 2021 with four rear cameras, including a 108MP f/1.8 main camera sensor.
The second 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera f / 2.2. And it has two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras. One with f/2.4 aperture supporting 3x optical zoom and the other with f/4.7 aperture supporting 10x optical zoom.
This is without a doubt one of the best camera setups on the market right now, giving you the ability to zoom up to 100x with less noise and distortion.
Phone 12 Pro Max
iPhones are known for their camera advances. This generation of iPhone also has the best camera setups on the market. More importantly, the Pro Max has a larger sensor, making it one of the best smartphones for photography.
A triple camera setup that includes a 12MP f/1.6 primary camera with 2x optical zoom, a 12MP f/2.2 telephoto camera that supports 4x optical zoom, and finally a 12MP f/2.4 Ultra-Wide Camera.
If that's not enough, the phone also has a LiDAR scanner that gives you enhanced portraits in low-light conditions.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro
A little more expensive than other high-end smartphones, but can take good photos. The Huawei P and Mate series offer one of the best cameras on the market. The Mate 40 Pro has a triple camera, a 50-megapixel Ultra Vision camera, which is actually a wide camera with an aperture of f / 1.9.
The setup is completed by a 20-megapixel f/1.8 ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/3.4 aperture and supports OIS with deep autofocus and 5x optical zoom.
This setting gives you ultra-slow motion video at 3480 FPS at 720p and 50x digital zoom. Leica optics play a vital role in improving photo quality.
My 10 Ultra
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is a beast. It is also ranked as the third best smartphone camera by DxOMark. It is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto, a 48-megapixel telephoto zoom lens and finally a 20-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Thanks to its wide dynamic range, the Mi 10 Ultra is one of the phones for taking photos. If you're looking for a phone that takes high-contrast photos, then this is the one to go for.
Although photos taken in low light will suffer and have noise. For those wondering why I didn't choose the Mi 11 over the Mi 11 Ultra, it's because the Mi 10 Ultra offers more versatility. Also, the Mi 11's camera isn't a huge leap from the Mi 10.
Samsung Galaxy Note Ultra 20
Released back in August 2020, but can still be placed in the TOP 5, thanks to the huge sensor that can capture a lot of detail. The Note 20 Ultra comes with triple-camera sensors, a 108MP f/1.8 wide-angle camera with OIS and PDAF, and a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera. Last but not least, a 12MP f/3.0 telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Now the most important thing is the laser autofocus sensor. This setup provides 50x ultra-high definition magnification and 100x digital magnification. On the front panel, there is a dual-pixel autofocus 10-megapixel camera with an aperture of f / 2.2 with support for wide-angle and portrait modes.
Google Pixel 5
The Pixel 5 was released back in October 2020 and only has two cameras on the back. This phone only has two sensors while the other phones on the list have at least three or four sensors. Well, Google does magic with its software. Its photo editing software is next level. This dual camera has a 12,2MP f/1,7 aperture primary camera sensor.
The second is a 16-megapixel f / 2.2 ultra-wide camera. Unfortunately, there's no telephoto camera, but the Pixel's software has solved that digitally. It produces sharp images in daylight, but colors and contrast remain accurate in low light. One of the best phones for bokeh effect. If you're on a tight budget, the Pixel 4a 5G is a good option as it comes with the same camera setup.
Huawei P40 Pro
How come the P-series phone is not on the list of the 10 best smartphones for photography? The Huawei P20 series was a masterpiece of its time. Huawei P40 Pro preserves the DNA of its predecessors and offers excellent camera settings. This phone is equipped with 4 camera sensors.
The primary sensor is a 50MP f/1,9 wide-angle camera with OIS, accompanied by a 40MP f/1,8 ultra-wide camera, a 12MP SuperSensing telephoto camera with OIS, f/3,4 support 5 -multiple optical magnification and, finally, a 3D camera that determines the depth of a sharp edge.
OnePlus 8 Pro
OnePlus 8 Pro was released back in April 2020. The Chinese company is known for its software and performance, but over time they have also improved their cameras. On the back of the square camera is a 48-megapixel main camera sensor with an aperture of f / 1.78, which supports OIS and EIS.
Rounding out the setup is an 8-megapixel f/2,44 telephoto lens that comes with 3x hybrid zoom, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with f/2,2 120-degree field aperture, and finally a 5-megapixel color camera with f / 2,4. Above that are sensors for autofocus, including Omni Directional PDAF, LAF and CAF.
Sony Xperia 1II
Cinematography is the main event of Sony smartphones. The Xperia 1 II was released in May 2020 and is still considered one of the best camera phones out there. You can take professional photos on this phone. The Xperia 1 II comes with a triple-camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel f/1.7 sensor main camera, a 12-megapixel f/2.4 aperture with a focal length of 70mm and finally a 70mm 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide camera.
Not only are the photos great, but it gives you one of the best video recording experiences out there with OIS and EIS support. All these ZEISS calibrated lenses with AF and AE focus and auto focus for human and animal eyes.
My Notes 10
Most of the above listed phones are quite expensive. It's worth going for if you're on a tight budget and just want to click some good photos, especially with high detail. Also, my reason for featuring this rather old Mi Note 10 is the versatility of the different sensors it offers.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 comes with a Penta camera setup. Consists of 108MP f/1.7 ultra-high resolution camera with 4-axis OIS and 7P lens, 8MP f/2.0 telephoto camera that supports 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom with OIS, 12MP f/2.0 portrait camera with 2x optical zoom and dual-pixel autofocus, a 20-megapixel f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 117-degree field of view, and finally a 2-megapixel macro camera. This phone was the first to feature a 108MP sensor and is still one of the few to feature the Penta system.
