WhatsApp tests 24-hour "disappearing message" feature

WhatsApp is doing a lot to improve the quality of features it offers to users. Yesterday, the company announced that the WhatsApp desktop app now supports video and audio calls. According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows messages to self-destruct after 24 hours. This comes after WhatsApp tested the disappearing images on the platform. Recall that this feature made Snapchat very popular a few years ago.

If this feature is active, all messages you send will automatically disappear after 24 hours. According to reports, WhatsApp is currently testing this feature. However, there is no certainty that this feature will be implemented. However, if this happens, it will be similar to the already existing 7-day automatic deletion feature.

WhatsApp is testing disappearing photos for Android and iPhone

The team of the popular messenger WhatsApp is working on a new feature designed to improve the security and privacy of users. Amid the ongoing scandal over WhatsApp's new privacy rules, the new feature has drawn public scorn.

The WABetaInfo website noted the development of the new feature. We are talking about disappearing photos and images that can be sent in the Android and iOS versions of the messenger.

Such photos cannot be exported or copied from the chat. However, there is no feature to detect attempts to take screenshots. This feature is not yet available to users and no exact release dates have been announced.

A new attempt to boost privacy amid new rules that users must adopt on March 15 has drawn much derision. Members of the XDA Developers community called the feature "as useless as disappearing messages."

Disappearing WhatsApp messages became available to everyone in November 2020. The messenger in no way interferes with taking screenshots and does not even warn the sender about such attempts. According to XDA Developers, this makes the feature completely useless.
WhatsApp is testing a new layout for media sharing

WhatsApp started sending out a new update on Thursday (25) to users enrolled in the Beta program. With this update, the test version of the messenger has reached build 2.21.5.4 on Android. It introduces a crisp new layout for the media sharing menu.

With this version, WhatsApp will start testing a small change in the screen layout for sending media files such as photos, videos and GIFs. The novelty has not yet been released to the public, but was spotted in the latest version of the program. This makes minor changes to the appearance of the media edit screen footer.

As you can see in the screenshots above, which show the old version on the left and the current version on the right, the text input area is now an oval message ball. Also, the icon for inserting more media files is now inside this "balloon". The icon for sending a file and message has also changed slightly. Its size has been reduced slightly, in addition to the new alignment of the text input icon. Finally, the recipient's name has also changed its position. It is now at the right end of the footer instead of the bottom left corner.

This new feature is not yet available to the general public, but the WABeta Info team has already managed to access the changes based on the messenger's source code. It's worth noting that even if your app is version 2.21.5.4, you won't be able to see it yet. We believe the WhatsApp team should enable it on the server side.

I have always been interested in IT technologies. And since my previous many years of professional activity (which is design and pre-press preparation) is not possible without their help, it so happened that everything that was related to computers (for example, collecting and modernizing "hardware", as well as configuring software ) I always had to do it myself.

Well, with the advent of gadgets in our lives, the scope of my interests expanded to include them as well.

I like to study and analyze the capabilities of various devices, and for many years, before buying anything new, I always study the capabilities of each potential model for a long time and carefully, spend quite a long and painstaking work, read reviews, reviews and comparisons.

The reward for my time is usually that most of the time I really do get the best of what I can get within my budget.
